What to know when you land in Mauritius
When arriving at Mauritius through Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) the following sequence of events will take place, This guide takes you through the full process.
Preparation before you disembark
Family and group tip
Keep one clearly named file for every traveller, including children. Before the flight, share each adult’s form with them and make sure the relevant guardian can open the children’s forms without relying on airport Wi-Fi.
Step 1
After disembarking, follow signs to immigration/passport control. On a recent Easy Arrival visit, the hall had separate queues for Mauritian residents, visitors and premium-class travellers. Queue arrangements can change, so use the signs and staff directions you see on arrival.
Have your passport open and ready. The immigration officer may ask the reason for your visit and how long you plan to stay, and may request supporting travel details. Answer clearly and politely. The officer will check your documents and, if entry is granted, admit you into Mauritius and stamp your passport.
The form is not a visa
The Mauritius All-in-One Travel Form records arrival and health information. It does not replace a passport, visa or permission to enter Mauritius.
Step 2
After immigration, continue to the Health Control desk. On our recent airport visit, travellers presented the QR code from their completed Mauritius All-in-One Travel Form to be scanned by a Health Control officer.
Open the email from Easy Arrival, download the attached PDF and display the QR code on your phone. You can also present a printed copy. Save the file for offline access and turn up your screen brightness before reaching the desk.
Prepare a separate completed form and accessible QR code for each traveller, including each child. If one person submitted forms for a family or group, distribute the files in advance so the correct code can be shown quickly and without delay.
During our visit, some travellers were completing paper forms at Health Control. A paper form may be available, but filling it in and having it checked can add significant time depending on the queue. We don't recommend doing it here, as it can take a long time and cause delays the Mauritius Government also recommends completing the form beforehand as to not cause delays in their processing.

After Health Control, follow signs to baggage claim and collect your checked luggage from the carousel assigned to your flight. Once you have your bags, continue through the exit into the public arrivals area.
The arrivals area has services for onward travel, including currency exchange and mobile connectivity. Compare exchange rates and fees before changing money, and keep valuables secure while arranging transport.
Stay connected
Mauritius has broad 4G/5G mobile coverage, although speed and signal vary by location, building and device. Two carrier options currently advertised for visitors are:
Prices, fair-use terms, eligibility and collection points can change. Verify the latest details directly with the carrier before purchase.
Common onward options include a pre-arranged hotel transfer, taxi or rental car. Confirm the total fare or rental terms before accepting a service, and check collection instructions if you booked in advance.
Independent car-rental recommendation
For travellers comparing rental cars, R3 Cars is one option recommended by Easy Arrival. It is not an official airport or government service. Review the vehicle, insurance, deposit, fuel, mileage and collection terms before booking.
